Bird toys are necessary for budgies. Something simple as a bird mirror can keep your budgie occupied for hours each day. Bird mirrors are also good in that they mimic some companionship for your budgie. There is no need to spend a lot of money on bird toys, but be sure to diversify in the types of toys you offer your birds. Budgies will love to make the little bells ring, chew on rope and leather, even run in a hamster wheel. While not necessarily a bird toy, buying a bird ladder is great for helping some birds climb up from the floor to the cage.
Great list of budgie toys and budgie accessories:
- Hanging ring ladders
- Wooden chew toys
- Bird swing with bells
- Rope ladder mixed with wood pieces or bells
- Naturally shaped perches
- Hamster wheel
- Anything with mirrors
- Budgie bath
Be sure to have lots of perches in the cage if your are keeping more than one budgie in it, so as to avoid any fighting. Budgies love water and to keep themselves clean and it’s important to offer them some water to bathe in every once in a while, if not regularly. The budgie cage should preferably have a flat top where the budgies can play when you let them out. This is a great place to add some more toys.
